How to Clean Your Yeezys
Hand wash
Better use this way instead of wash machine, but you still can use wash machine when you don’t have enough time.
Step 1: Remove insoles and laces
Carefully remove the insoles and laces from your Yeezy Boosts
Step 2: Prepare lukewarm water and cleaning solution
Fill a bowl with half lukewarm water and 2 – 3 squeezes of a cleaning solution.
Step 3: Clean the sole
Don’t touch the delicate Primeknit of your Yeezy Boost with the hard-bristled brush.
Step 4: Clean laces
- Clean laces: Empty and rinse your bowl and refill with half lukewarm water, and 2 – 3 squeezes of a cleaning solution.
- Place laces in the bowl and soak for approximately 20 minutes.
- Use your soft-bristled brush to gently scrub laces after they have been soaked for around 20 minutes.
Use washing machine
Can I put my Yeezy Boost into wash machine?
Yes, of course. But still some points to be careful.
Step 1: Remove insoles and laces
Carefully remove the insoles and laces from your Yeezy Boosts – insoles SHOULD NOT go into the washing machine. Place laces inside a wash bag or pillowcase and gently knot it closed so that the laces do not escape and get tangled.
Step 2: Clean the soles by hand
Using your hand or a soft cloth, remove as much mud and dirt from the soles of your Yeezy Boosts as possible. You don’t want dirt to get trapped in the pillowcase and stain the Primeknit of your Yeezy Boosts.
Step 3: Put Yeezys to two pillowcase or garment bag
Place one Yeezy Boost in a pillowcase or garment bag. Place the other Yeezy Boost in a SEPARATE pillowcase or garment bag. That’s right, one bag for each shoe. Place the pillow cases or garment bags inside the washing machine.
Step 4: Add a small amount of laundry detergent
Add a small amount of laundry detergent to your washing machine – less than half of what you’d usually use.
Step 5: Press the button
Set your machine to COLD. High temperatures will melt the soles – BIG MISTAKE.
Now, set the cycle to gentle and press start.
How to Store Your Yeezys
- You should put them in a sealed bag (zip lock etc.) to keep the dust and humidity out.
- To avoid molding, put silica gel packs in the zip lock bags as well.
- Cooler temperatures in dark places are preferable.
- Do not bother storing to keep soles icey, as soles turn yellow because they oxidize.
